The open seas, and plentiful springs supporting palm groves, market gardens and farms dot the island of Bahrain from its furthest north to its deepest south.
These springs have given Bahrain a unique geography and role in history of the Gulf region. Each of the many fruits that grow here watered by these springs, in their season, have been an important source of food for the people of the region, as important to them as the air
that they breathe.
